This 37,000-square-foot science and engineering facility expands SDSU Imperial Valley’s STEM programming with flexible teaching labs, core research spaces, and a STEM Innovation Hub. Designed to encourage interaction among students, faculty, and industry partners, the building supports hands-on learning and collaboration — particularly in lithium research and related emerging technologies.

Flexible Furniture for Collaboration

  • Heavy Duty Mobile Carts with casters, adjustable-height worksurfaces and shelving, electrical raceways, and task lighting to allow quick reconfiguration of lab environments

  • Optima™ 2100 & 2550 Series free standing bench systems that were pre-plumbed and pre-wired with electrical and data for quick connection to ceiling service panels

  • Height-adjustable tables with notched front aprons, GFI receptacles, and bag hooks to support group work and shifting classroom layouts
